CORRUPTION PERCEPTIONS INDEX (CPI)-2019.

The Corruption Perceptions Index is prepared by Transparency International. The organisation was started in the year 1993 by some individuals to take stand against corruption. The organisation has a secretariat in Berlin, Germany. The CPI uses a scale from zero to 100 where zero is highly corrupted and 100 is very clean. The survey of 2019 was conducted in 180 countries. The annual report shows that in the last eight years only 22 countries significantly improved their CPI scores including Greece, Guyana and Estonia. During the same period, 21 countries significantly decreased their scores including Canada, Australia and Nicaragua. In 2019 India ranked 80 (78 in 2018) with a score of 41.
