TYLER PRIZE-THE NOBEL FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

The Tyler Prize for the Environmental Achievement was established in 1973 by John and Alice Tyler. The award is administered by the University of Southern California. This global environmental prize recognizes individuals who have contributed in the field of environmental sciences, environment health and energy. The laureates receive $200,000 cash prize and a medallion.

The award for 2020 is jointly awarded to Dr. Gretchen C.Daily and Mr. Pavan Sukhdev. In 2016 Sir Partha Sarathi Das Gupta of Bangladesh became the first recipient of this award from Indian sub continent.

Dr. Gretchen C. Daily, one of the 50 Most Important Women in Science.Presently she is Bing Professor of Environmental Science in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. Dr. Daily the Director of the Center for Conservation Biology at Stanford is also a senior fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. Authored,co-authored and/or edited 5 books and has published more 200 scientific and popular journals.

He is also one of the Board Members for TEEB Advisory Board, Stockholm Resilience Centre, and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.
