BBC INDIAN SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR- PV SINDHU

INDIAN SHUTTLER P.V SINDHU WON THE INAUGURAL BBC INDIAN SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD. THE QUEEN OF INDIAN TRACK AND FIELD, P T USHA WON THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. THE OTHER NOMINEE WERE DUTEE CHAND, M.C. MARY KOM VINESH PHOGAT MANASI JOSHI.

Sindhu is considered a medal prospect at this year’s Olympics in Tokyo for India. She has won five World Championship medals and is the first Indian singles badminton player to win an Olympic silver medal. In 2012 September, she aged 17 and entered in the top 20 world rankings. She has been in the top 10 ranks for the past 4 years. In 2018 and 2019 she made into Forbes highest-paid female athletes.
