Success Samrat

The Drafting Committee was set up on 29th August 1947. It was Chaired by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and had seven members. The first draft of the Constitution Of India was prepared by Sir B. N. Rau and was published in February 1948. The motion on the Constitution was passed on November 26, 1949. The provisions such as Citizenship, Elections, Provisional Parliament and provisions under Articles-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 60, 324, 366, 367, 379, 380, 388, 391, 392 and 393 were enacted on November 26th, 1949. The rest of the portion of the Constitution was enacted on January 26th 1950. As on this day, in December 1929 at Lahore Session at river Ravi, it was declared that on this day in 1930 Purna swaraj will be celebrated i.e complete Independence. The constitution of India is the longest known constitution of the world as the majority of its portion was adopted from the Government Of India 1935 Act and various provisions from other constitution of the world. It originally had 395 Articles and 8 Schedules. Till it has more than 444 plus Articles and 12 Schedules. The constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into force on 26th January 1950.
