A hat-trick in a cricket is when a bowler take three consecutive wickets in a over in a match. Except in the case of run out. • Pakistan’s Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq have taken hat-trick twice in one-day internationals. But one of the Saqlain’s hat-trick came in the World Cup of 1999. Whereas their teammates Waqar Younis, Aaqib Javed and Mohammad Sami have one hat-trick each.
• Kapil Dev, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sharma, and Mohammed Shami have taken hat-tricks for India. The latter two have taken in the Cricket World Cups.
• For Sri-Lanka Chaminda Vaas and Lasith Malinga, both have taken the hat-tricks twice. For Malinga, both came in the World Cup and he is the only bowler in the history of World Cup to do so and he is the only bowler to take four consecutive wickets. Vaas claimed its one of the hat-tricks in 2003 World Cup. Vaas became the first person in history to take a hat-trick with the first three balls of an ODI. The other Lankan bowlers who took a hat-trick are Farveez Maharoof and Thisara Perera.
• Steven Finn and Kemar Roach became first English and West-Indian bowlers to take first a hat-trick for their countries in a World Cup. The other English bowlers who have a hat-trick are James Anderson, Steve Harmison, and Andrew Flintoff.
• Kagiso Rabada (South-Africa), Taijul Islam(Bangladesh), Wanidu Hasaranga(Sri-Lanka) and Shehan Madushanka(Sri-Lanka) are four bowlers who have taken a hat-trick on their debut in One Day Internationals.
• For Australia Bruce Reid, Anthony Stuart, Dan Christian, Clint Mckay, and James Faulker have a hat-trick. But Brett Lee is the only bowler to have a hat-trick for the same in the World Cup.
• For New-Zeland Danny Morrison, Shane Bond, and Trent Boult. Zimbabwean bowlers are Eddo Brandes and Prosher Utseya.
• South African bowlers are- Charl Langeveldt, Imran Tahir. J.P.Duminy has a hat-trick for South Africa in the World Cup.
• The Bangladeshi bowlers who have claimed a hat-trick are Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Abdur Razzak, and Shahadat Hossain.
• The two West-Indian are Jerome Taylor and Kemar Roach. The latter had taken the hat-trick in the World Cup.
