PALAEOLITHIC- THE OLD STONE AGE
Homo sapiens, the first modern man first appeared around 36000 BC. He is called modern man because he invented fire. The primitive man used tools made of stones. The historians called this age as the Old Stone Age. The man began its activities in India around 2,50,000 BC. The palaeolithic man of India is called as Quartzite Man, tools used by Indian palaeolithic were made up of quartzite stone. At Kurnool, we have found palaeolithic tools of 1,00,000 BC. Bhimbetka, Madhya Pradesh a famous palaeolithic site where caves and rock shelter used by old stone man is found.
