KATHRYN SULLIVAN DIVES THE DEEPEST OCEANIC TRENCH

Kathryn D. Sullivan, an American geologist, former astronaut and now an executive became the first woman to dive to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. The deepest point on the earth. In 1978, She was among the first six women to join NASA astronaut corp. In 1984, she became the first American woman to do a spacewalk. In her 15 years career at NASA, she was part of the three space shuttle missions. One of the three missions included her in the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope.
