Ethnologue Languages of the World is the U.S based organisation. It annually publishes the statistics and informations about the living languages since 1951. Recently it has published 23rd edition in which it has information about 7117 languages.The data says that 41% of the languages are endangered i.e 2895, less than 1000 speakers speak them and just 23 languages account for more than half of the world’s population.
