DAPHENE AKHURST was born in Sydney on 12th April 1903.Between 1924-1931 she won five Australian singles and nine Australian doubles titles. She ranks third on the Australian all-time singles champion list.In her honour the Australian Trophy is called as DAPHENE AKHURST Memorial  Cup.

JOAN HARTIGAN was born in Sydney on 6th JUNE 1912.She made her debut in 1931as a junior at Australian Championship.Won Australian open 1933,1934 and 1936.She is an idol for amateurs who love her hard hitting forehand and light hearted approach for the game.

NANCYE WYNNE BOLTON was born in Melbourne on 10 June 1916.She ranks second on the Australian all-time singles champion list.Won Australian open 1937,1940,1946,1948 and 1951.One of the best tennis players during second world war.

MARGARET SMITH COURT was born in New South Wales at Albury on 16th July 1942.She made her debut at the age of 17.She has won 11 singles and five doubles Australian Open titles between 1960-1966,1969-1971 and 1973.In 1970 she became the first woman to win all the four major Grand Slams in a year in Open Era and second in the history of the tennis .The first player was DORIS HART.

EVONNE GOOLAGONG was born in New South Wales at Griffith on 31 July 1951.Between 1974-1977 she won four Australian Open major.She became first mother in open era to win a grand slam title in 1977.

MARTINA NAVRATILOVA was born in Czechoslovak at Prague on 18th October 1956.She is one of the three women who have accomplished Grand Slam Box Set.First two are DORIS HART and MARGARET SMITH COURT.She won the Australian Open in 1981,1983 and 1985.In the Open Era she and Serena Williams are only players to six singles titles without losing a set.Margaret Smith Court,Maureen Connolly and Martina Navratilova share the record of winning six major singles title.

STEFFI GRAF was born in Germany at Mannheim on 14 June 1969.The former rank one has won 22 Grand Slam Singles Titles.After the introduction of Open Era in 1968 she is second to Serena Williams 23 and all time third to Magaret Smith Court 24.In 1988 she become the first ever tennis player to win all the four major Grand Slams along with the Olympic Gold at Seoul in the same Calendar year.She won Australian Open in 1988-1990 and 1994.

MONICA SELES was born in Serbia at Novi Sad on 2nd December 1973.In 1990 she  became the youngest tennis player ever to win French Open,she aged 16.She made her Australian Open debut in 1991 and ranked one in the world.She suprised others by winning the trophy in her first attempt for the loss of one set.

MARTINA HINGIS was born in Slovakia in Kosice on 30th September 1980. she has to her name all of the YOUNGEST EVER records that includes youngest ever Grand Slam Champion and youngest ranked one in the world were set by her in 1990’s.She won Australian Open in 1997-1999.

SERENA WILLIAMS was born in The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in MICHIGAN at SAGINAW on 26th September 1981.She is the third best player on Open Era after MARTINA NAVRATILOVA and STEFFI GRAF.In terms of singles titles she is all time second best after  MARGARET SMITH COURT.She won Australian Open in2003,2005, 2007,2009-2010,2015 and 2017.

JACK CRAWFORD was born in Urangeline in Australia on 22nd March 1908.Famous as gentleman Jack was one of the best players of his times.He won the Australian open in 1931,1933 and 1935.

ROY EMERSON was born in Blackbutt in Queensland in Australia on 3rd November 1936.He became the first male player to win 12 singles major and male player to win all the four major Grand Slams in singles and doubles too.He won six Australian Open titles out of them five were consecutive titles.Novak Djokovic broke his record in 2019 when won his seventh Australian Open title.Emerson stands among the five players who have won multiple slam sets in two discipline these MARGARET SMITH COURT,MARTINA NAVRATILOVA ,SERENA WILLIAMS and FRANK SEDGMAN.He won Australian Open in 1961,1963-1967.

KEN ROSEWALL was born in Sydney in Australia on 2nd November 1934.Nick name Muscles.Before Open Era Rosewell had already won 23 single titles including 8 Major Grand Slams.His overall record is of 35 Majors.Won Australian Open in 1953,1955,1971-72.At the age of 18 in 1953 he won his first australian title and the youngest to do so.

ROD LAVER was born in Rockhamptom in Australia on 9th August 1938.LAVER ranked one in the world 1964-1970.He has won 200 singles titles most in the tennis history.In 1962 and in 1969 he won all the four majors and become the only person to achieve this in the history of tennis.He won Australian Open in 1960-1962 and 1969.

MAT WILANDER was born in Vaxjo in Sweden on 22nd AUGUST 1964.He stands among the league of six men of JIMMY CONNORS,ANDRE AGASSI, RAFAEL NADAL, ROGER FEDERER and NOVAK DJOKOVIC who have won Grand Slam singles titles on grass court,clay court and hard court.He and NADAL share are record of winning atleast two Grand Slams of each three surfaces.He won Australian Open in 1983,1984 and 1988.

ANDRE AGASSI was born in Las Vegas in Nevada in the United States Of America.Agassi become the first male to win four Australian Open titles.The winner of eight Grand Slams and winner of Olympic Gold medal in 1996 at Atlanta.He won Australian Open in 1995,2000,2001 and 2004.

ROGER FEDERER was born in Basel in Switzerland on 8 August 1981.Federer has won 20 Grand Slams Major singles most by a male in the history of tennis.He has won Australian Open in 2004,2006,2007,2010 and 2017.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC was born in Belgrade in Serbia on 22nd May 1987.Presently ranked one in the tennis world and became first Serbian to reach the top .Till now he has 15 Grand Slams single titles under his belt.He won Australian Open in 2008,2011-2013,2015-2016 and 2019.
